Track links from AWIN

If you promote AWIN merchant links through LinkCentral, you can set a goal and measure the conversion of your short link by using a callback goal with AWIN’s click reference parameter.

LinkCentral setup

  1. Enable and create a new LinkCentral goal.
  2. Give it a name, for example “AWIN conversion”
  3. Set the conversion as Completes an action on an external site
  4. Name the tracking parameter clickref. This means that LinkCentral will append clickref={click_id} to every outbound click.

Now, on the All Links page, go to your AWIN links and assign them to the created goal.

AWIN setup

  1. Now, in AWIN, go to Toolbox → Transaction Notifications
  2. Set Callback method to GET
  3. Set Callback URL to your goal’s callback URL and append clickref like this:
    {your LinkCentral callback URL}?clickref=!!!clickRef!!!

AWIN will now automatically send notifications to LinkCentral and replace !!!clickRef!!! with the value from the original click.

You can now track your AWIN links and conversions on the Insights page.

Notes

  • AWIN sends a notification when a transaction is recorded
  • LinkCentral counts the conversion; it does not import commission amounts or transaction status from AWIN
  • If a sale is later declined, LinkCentral does not remove the conversion automatically
